

How it began...

It all began in 2008 when our founder started to work for Sodexo USA, planning and executing weekly conferences nationwide. She hadn't been able to find a job in her field and ventured into this opportunity temporarily. She ended up falling in love with event management. Shortly after, she worked for Guitar Center as an event manager as well.
In 2013, a friend asked her to help decorate a social event at a Hilton hotel in Monroeville, PA. This small research project turned into the entire event's planning, coordination, and décor. She nailed it and became notorious for event planning skills in the community. At that point, Aurelia committed to turning her hobby into a lifetime career, and that is how AFK Events & Designs was born.
Located in Silver Spring, Maryland, AFK Events serves the greater DC metropolitan area since 2022. We provide event management and equipment rental services, but our passion is event décor. Creating the right ambiance for your guests is the first step to providing a breathtaking experience. As a result, we are consistently researching and innovating to offer you the latest trends on the market. Our motto is Excellence and Commitment.
