We are looking for ten dependable, punctual, and hard-working individuals to join our Event Delivery Team. These persons will be responsible for setting up, delivering, and breaking down tables, chairs, and other furniture for weddings and events in the DMV area. We rent our furniture for luxury events, so professionalism is a must. Our inventory must be handled with extreme care. You must have reliable transportation to work and be able to lift 75+ lbs. A positive attitude, excellent customer service, and dependability are musts for this position! Sometimes there are early mornings, and there are often late nights and long hours. It is hard work, but you will have fantastic coworkers and be part of a growing company.

Since 2013, AFK Events has provided event management, decor, and rental services to weddings and events on the east coast. We love managing and decorating events, so we put our blood, sweat, and tears into every event we participate in.

 

What you bring to the table:

  • Punctual: We will pay you to be 15 minutes early to each shift. It’s that important!

  • Professional: You will be the face of the company when onsite and will be interacting with the client.

  • Communication: We are looking for individuals who will collaborate with the AFK Events Team Lead throughout their delivery and pick-up and inform them if any problems arise.

  • Team Player: You will be working early morning, late nights, and long days. Willingness to work hard, work fast, and have a positive attitude throughout your shift is a must!

 

What we require:

  • Reliable transportation to and from work. (Our head office is metro accessible, however, some of our client venues may not be)

  • Week and Weekend Availability. (Typical shifts are on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). Shifts can be early mornings, afternoons, and late nights.

  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs

  • 1+ year of Moving, Loading, or Transportation Experience.

  • Proof of COVID Vaccine

  • Criminal background check if hired.

When you’ll do it:

This is a part-time, seasonal position.
April, May, June, August, September, and November: 20-40 Hours per Week
January, February, March, July, and December: 0-20 Hours per Week
Open weekend availability is a must! You will be working late nights, early mornings and long hours

We are looking for talented event professionals who want to build a strong florist career in a high-impact, high-visibility industry.

What you bring to the table:

The Event Florist reports to the Event Designer and collaborates with them to create unforgettable masterpieces for weddings and events. This position is very hands-on and requires floral design, creativity, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate must be highly resourceful with a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail.

You will co-create over-the-top designs for weddings and special events. You will work with the event designer, logistic supervisor, and the Event Delivery Team to ensure flawless execution of events.

 

What we require:

  • A Team Player Attitude: You will be working early morning, late nights, and long days. Willingness to work hard, work fast, and have a positive attitude throughout your shift is a must!

  • Some Experience: 1-2 years floral design experience (preferably weddings & special events). Must have excellent solid problem-solving skills, proven leadership skills, and excellent collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders

  • Reliable transportation to and from work. (Our head office is metro accessible. However, some of our client venues may not be)

  • Week and Weekend Availability: Typical workdays are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Work Shifts can be early mornings, afternoons, and late nights.

 

Other requirements: 
Ability to lift 75+ lbs
